Practice 2D, as well as 3D shapes, with these two "Shaping Up With Seuss" & "Flipping Over Shapes" emergent reader flip booklets.
Students read the simple sentences, underline the capital letters and add end punctuation. They trace and write shape words, then trace, color and draw the various shapes. Gluing the top square to their Cat in the Hat hat, then snipping on the lines, creates a "flip the flaps" booklet.
When everyone is done, read the booklets together as a whole group, to reinforce concepts of print. I specifically used lots of Dolch word pronouns for more teachable moments.
This packet will be FREE for an entire year! Woo hoo.
After which time, it will be up-dated and put in my TpT shop.
Click on the link to zip on over to see the new, 23-page Flipping Over Shapes With The Cat's Hat, which now includes 2-on-a page templates to conserve paper, a graphing worksheet, plus an optional 2D shapes in "real life" page.
For your convenience, I've included a PREVIEW here.
