Can your students solve the mystery and increase their spatial direction skills? This booklet makes a great Mother's Day gift card. I've also included blank templates for students who will be giving the booklet to someone other than a mom.
Teacher reads the simple sentences; students fill in the end punctuation. They trace and write the directional words and then color, cut and glue their bouquets to the appropriate place on the page. Great fine motor and cutting skill practice as well as a super assessment tool for listening and following directions.
For the last page students glue the edges of their "door" so it opens to reveal a bouquet for mom and Happy Mother's Day wishes, or it reveals "Surprise! I love you." for children who'll give their booklet to a special someone.
When everyone is done, read it together as a whole group to reinforce concepts of print. Students will then be able to read it to their moms/special person on Mother's Day; what a wonderful gift that is!
