The hexagon is often a "toughie" shape for students to learn. A fun way to give them more practice with hexagons, is with pattern blocks. Have them count them, stack them, pattern with them etc. As they are playing with the pattern blocks, challenge them to use the variousl pieces to see how many ways they can make the hexagon shape.
Don't just have your students play with pattern blocks; have them learn the shape names of the pieces. Includes full color set of pocket cards, plus a black & white, pattern-block booklet that students can make. They trace, draw and color the shape, plus trace and write the shape word.
Your students will enjoy doing these pattern block kite puzzles. Packet includes color as well as black and white copies.
