Your students will enjoy this New Year writing prompt as they reflect about things they'd like to do less of, like fighting with a sibling, goofing off, being late, . . . as well as things they think they'd like to do more of: studying, reading, exercising etc.
A "get your thoughts organized" sheet, as well as the greater and less than symbol pages are included. To turn this writing activity into an awesome January bulletin board, have students trace their foot (with their shoe on) onto a piece of construction paper. They glue the "More or less I will try to put my best foot forward in the New Year." square and photo to their shoe. Students write on their name and the New Year and trim their pages.
