Encourage students to trace the numbers, as they color however many feathers that match the number on the turkey's tummy. 

Too avoid scribbling, because children are tired of coloring, I'd suggest only assigning 1 or 2 of the higher numbered turkeys to color in one sitting, taking several days to complete the booklet.

Markers seem to be a bit more fun for kiddo's to use, as they glide on and fill in quickly.
