My Y5's really enjoyed making necklaces.  I had one little boy who hung all of his on a hook in his bedroom, so he could remember all the different fun days that we had celebrated.

Stringing beads and cut up straws, is not only a great fine motor skill, but you can also assess patterning comprehension in a quick, easy and fun way.
