Each year for my Open House, as well as parent-teacher conferences, I put up a small table, covered it with a seasonal tablecloth and set a basket of mints on it, along with a sign that said: "Families Are Worth A Mint! Help yourself."

While doing research on the web, I came across a variety of similar ideas, including this adorable poem that was pinned, with no link to who the original writer was.  I decided to jazz this sweet sentiment up with a bit of clip art and my original saying.  Simply print and mount on construction paper.  I've also included some larger mints so you can reproduce my entire display.  Enjoy! :-)

This is a quick, easy and inexpensive little gift that you can have lying on your students' desks for that first day of school.  Be sure and write their name on the puzzle to make things extra special.  These can be precut to expedite things, or to give yourself some extra "sanity" time, you can have students cut up their own puzzle after they have colored the picture.

Add some fun to explaining where things are located, by turning this necessity into a game, where your students become "I Spy!" detectives and locate important items in your classroom.

Get organized and make life easier with a book hospital basket.  When students are reading a book from your classroom library and discover that it needs some repair work to avoid further damage, have them fill out an Rx form of what's wrong with the book and how you can fix it. They tuck the note on the page that needs repair, so that the end sticks out and then drop the book in the "hospital" basket.  This is a special FREEBIE in my TpT store.  Click on the link to grab this easy, classroom management activity.

This "craftivity" packet is very versatile. I have templates that you can use at the end of the school year, where students write about the"souper" summer they are looking forward to, or the "souper" year they had, or they can make one for your next year's kiddos explaining why they are going to have a "souper" year in __________ grade.
